As part of the Design Excellence On-call Contract, Spacesmith was engaged by the New York City Department of Design + Construction (NYC DDC) to install a second elevator at the very busy Flushing Library to help with circulation. This location provides many vital community services and programs to patrons of all ages. Therefore, it is imperative that the existing elevator remain operational during construction while ensuring that the project does not interfere with essential library services, as well as major MEP and structural systems.
