Antoine Taillefer
There is nothing more satisfying than following the transition from drawings to construction and knowing that your designs marry all the aesthetic and functional needs of the client.
Antoine Bacle Taillefer is fascinated by the endless configurations made possible in the built environment by combining various materials and forms. He is deeply curious about global cultures and draws inspiration from buildings around the world, from the colonial architecture of Mumbai to the harmonious blend of urban bustle and futuristic design in Hong Kong.
Since joining Spacesmith, Antoine has applied his knowledge of building science and construction administration to retail, commercial, and residential projects for clients including Brookfield Properties and Graff. His involvement on a major interior renovation of a six-story townhouse for the Luxembourg government demonstrates his experience in creating technical details, coordinating with engineers, and troubleshooting structural roadblocks that arise during construction. He has impressive forethought, leading him to consider on-site feasibility while developing drawings to ensure smooth implementation.
A Canadian who moved to New York City from Montreal, Antoine puts his skills to use professionally and personally. In his free time, he is currently renovating his 130-year-old house in Canada and learning to speak, read, and write in Mandarin.
