Amy Jarvis
AIA
Physical space is so often what we tie our hopes and our memories to; it should be nurturing, safe, and beautiful.
Architecture is in Amy Jarvis’s genes. With parents who worked in adjacent industries—woodworking and interior design—she was naturally predisposed to the field. As she watched her father draw his dream home to cope with her mother’s passing, she came to understand that the built environment transcends physical space.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Amy found her way to New York after graduate school and joined Spacesmith in 2014. She has since developed a particular interest in managing Architect of Record projects and working shoulder-to-shoulder with consultants. Her background in fabrication and collaborating with world-renowned artists gives her a unique point of view on residential, luxury retail, and workplace projects. Her resume includes everything from interior renovations to ground-up construction, as shown in her work for Hudson House.
Amy excels in problem-solving, especially in terms of custom millwork, architectural details, and other built assemblies. Her keen oversight and coordination have been vital in bringing many expansive elements to fruition, including the post-tension stairs at Hermes Maison Madison, which opened to the public in October 2022. Her work on the façade of Carolina Herrera’s flagship store on Madison Avenue demonstrates her strength in navigating the complexities of Landmark District regulations.
On the home front, Amy is currently renovating her 1974 A-frame, complete with a lake view, where she lives with her husband and two kids.
