Alexandra Koretski
IIDA, NCIDQ
I approach challenges as opportunities to experiment, rethink, and retool our methods to achieve the best results.
Every project Alex touches benefits from her innate curiosity. She is drawn to architecture and design in part because it grants her the opportunity to explore the various interior environments Spacesmith’s clients inhabit: science labs, universities, libraries, embassies, and more. Her genuine interest compels her to discover the unique requirements of each project, allowing her to create spaces that are comfortable, functional, and effective.
As a vital team member on many of Spacesmith’s government projects, Alex has mastered the delicate art of balance. Her global portfolio includes in-the-works United States Consulates in Lagos, Nigeria, and Chiang Mai, Thailand, as well as the US Embassy in Mexico City, all of which are targeting LEED certification. With an acquired understanding of the functional, sustainable, and aesthetic standards these spaces must satisfy, she takes care to deliver security without sacrificing comfort and consistency while honoring local culture.
Alex earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design from the School of Visual Arts. For seven years, she participated in the IIDA Sustainable Quilt Auction, designing and stitching quilts out of discontinued fabric samples to raise money for charity.
